The Creuse valley, situated in the south of the department, boasts meandering rivers, coves and steep cliffs. Its colours and magnificent scenery have attracted Impressionists like Monet, the Crozant School and contemporary artists.
Nowadays, the rivers Creuse and Anglin, or Lake Eguzon are popular destinations for outdoor leisure activities.
Discover, among others, Gargilesse and Saint-Benoit-du-Sault (two of the "Most beautiful villages in France"), as well as the Gallo-Roman site of Argentomagus.
