From October 18 to 23, the Lisztomanias festival returns to Châteauroux to accompany autumn with romantic notes in homage to one of the major figures of the genre in Europe. Tickets for the concerts on October 19, 20 and 21 at 20:30 p.m. are on sale at the tourist office.
If, in August, you were still in Nohant,
we could carry out our old festival project in Châteauroux.
– Franz Liszt to George Sand, May 30, 1844
Created in 2002, the Lisztomanias festival is back for its 23rd edition: Liszt, the athlete. This is marked by a desire to establish a parallel between Olympicism and what was the appearance of Liszt and his stage art in the years 1730-1840, inventing the modern concert and all its excesses. At the same time will be celebrated Gabriel Fauré, friend of Liszt, whose 2024 years of death we commemorate in 100 and George Gershwin, heir to the romantic improvising pianists who created his famous Rhapsody in Blue in 1924.
