For the winter holidays, Anna and Amélie have put together a program of guided tours and exciting activities for young and old! A varied offer is offered to you to appreciate all the riches of our destination which does not lack charm.

Enter the preserved world of municipal greenhouses with François Telefunko, head of the Horticultural Center. Discover with him the magnificent collection greenhouse where superb tropical plants are kept, some of which are endangered. Also visit the production greenhouses to meet the plants that adorn our cities!

The life of Henri-Gatien Bertrand, born in Châteauroux in 1773, is closely linked to that of Emperor Napoleon Ier of whom he was the faithful companion in arms and in exile. During an original two-person tour, let Amélie and Claire tell you the story of this emblematic character of the city and relive the splendor of the imperial period.

Carnival is here! Let your little wolves aged 5 to 10 put on their best costume for this fun workshop to discover carnival traditions. The origins of this celebration will soon no longer hold any secrets for your children. During this creative time of year, they will enjoy having fun and creating their own carnival mask!

On the banks of the Indre, Balsan Park hides between its century-old trees two small castles, vibrant vestiges of an industrial revolution as rich as it is vibrant. This notably marked the peak of the Balsan cloth factory which adjoins the park. The latter also houses the museum of popular arts and traditions which celebrates the ancestral crafts of cloth and local popular collections that you will be able to discover during the visit.

The friends of La Martinerie welcome you to the former building of the Franco-American mission which was subsequently occupied by master workers (tailors and bootmakers). In this place steeped in history, the members of the association will be keen to pass on to you the military history of the La Martinerie base and the Indre department. Come admire numerous period objects, discover a military medical post or a military chamber, salute the flags of departmental patriotic associations that have now disappeared and relive the period of the American presence in Châteauroux.

It is also called the land of witches... Our Berry is known for its centuries-old history and the many myths that inhabit it. Our storyteller will be happy to introduce your children to traditional tales and legends. Enough to make them the most adorable little Berrichons!

From 1951 to 1967, Châteauroux lived to the rhythm of the 10 Americans installed on the La Martinerie military base. An incredible period which left a lasting impression and which the US Museum is still working to bring to life today. Relive the highlights of this period during a unique tour that will take you from the US Museum on the trail of the most emblematic places of this unforgettable era.

The municipal greenhouses of Châteauroux open their doors to you for an exclusive tour of the greenhouses followed by a workshop on condiment plants. In this place, well hidden from view, the plants and flowers which adorn the flowerbeds and the streets of Châteauroux but also in several towns in the metropolitan area are grown. Come and discover behind the scenes the flowering of our cities before sowing your own herbs and aromatic plants.
